In the Bachupally neighborhood of this city, torrential rains caused a retaining wall at an apartment building to collapse, killing up to seven people, including a four-year-old child, authorities reported on Wednesday. The event occurred on Tuesday evening, and the deceased were migrant workers from Odisha and Chhattisgarh, according to Bachupally police. An excavator was used to retrieve their bodies early on Wednesday from beneath the rubble, according to the police.
